Manage Identity Safe Profile lets you configure Identity Safe settings. To configure the settings, you must be logged in to Identity Safe.
If you have not set up Identity Safe, click Manage Identity Safe.
If you have logged out of Identity Safe, use Log in or out of Identity Safe to login.
To manage Identity Safe Profile
1. To access Identity Safe Settings, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, select the types of options that you want to set.
Your options are:
Log-ins, Cards and Notes - Lets you manage log-ins, cards, and notes information in Identity Safe.
Options - Lets you collect and store Web page log-in information and configure the region.
Password & Security - Lets you change the password settings and Identity Safe password security level.
Auto-fill Exclusions - Lets you reverse an auto-fill exclusion that is specified for any log-in by removing its associated Web page from the Auto-fill Exclusions list.
Backup & Restore - Lets you back up and restore Identity Safe data.
You can use Log-ins, Cards, and Notes to create and manage log-ins, personal identity cards, and other confidential information.
Manage Log-ins - Lets you view, edit, and delete log-ins.
Manage Cards - Lets you view, edit, add, and delete personal identity cards.
Manage Notes - Lets you view, edit, add, and delete notes.
You can access Cards, Log-ins, and Notes from the main window. You can also access these from the Norton toolbar.
The Identity Safe menu on the toolbar provides quick links to Identity Safe settings. You have the following options:
Cards - Lets you view, add, edit, and delete cards.
Fill with - Lets you view the saved cards when you are on a Web page that has information fields.
Settings - Lets you configure the Identity Safe options.
The Log-ins menu on the toolbar provides quick links to Log-ins settings. You have the following options:
Manage Log-ins - Opens the Log-ins window, in which you can view and edit your Web page log-ins. To manage your logins, you must be logged in to Identity Safe.
My Norton Account - Opens the Web site www.mynortonaccount.com.
Norton Account lets you register your product and manage all of your Norton products.
Log-ins are saved when you enter them for the first time. You can save multiple log-ins for the same Web page. You can also save the same login for different Web pages.
Once a login is saved, it is automatically filled in the next time you visit that Web page.
You must be logged in to Identity Safe to save and auto-fill passwords. If the password field is blank, Password Security does not prompt you to save the login.
To save a login:
1. Go to the Web page for which you want to save your login.
2. Type your login, and then click the button or link that logs you in.
3. In the Save your Login dialog box that appears, click Yes.
To save additional logins for a Web page:
1. Go to the Web page for which you want to save another login.
2. Clear the entries that Password Security made for you automatically.
3. Type the new login, and then click the button or link that logs you in.
4. In the Add login dialog box, click Yes.
To save the same login for a different Web page
1. Go to the Web page for which you want to save the login.
2. Type the login, and then click the button or link that logs you in.
3. In the Save your Login dialog box that appears, click Yes.
If you don’t want to be prompted with the Save your Login dialog box for the same Web page, click Never for this Web page.
You can access your saved log-ins in the Identity Safe to do the following:
* See the log-ins that you have saved.
* Change the password of a login.
* Check the strength of a password.
* Choose whether or not to require the Identity Safe password to be provided before a login is automatically filled in.
* Delete a login.
* Open the Web page for a login.
* Auto-submit a login that you have saved.
You must be logged in to the Identity Safe to manage your log-ins and passwords.
To quick launch a login Web page
1. To quick launch a login Web page, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Log-ins, and then click Manage Log-ins.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards and Notes.
3. On the right side, under Log-ins, click Manage Log-ins.
4. In the Manage Log-ins page, select the login of the Web page that you want to launch.
5. Click Quick Launch.
6. Click OK to close the Log-ins page.
To delete a login
1. To delete a login, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards and Notes.
3. On the right side, under Log-ins, click Manage Log-ins.
4. In the Manage Log-ins page, select the login that you want to delete. Make sure that you have selected the correct login, because you will not be asked to verify the deletion.
5. Click Delete.
6. In the confirmation dialog box click OK.
Regularly changing the password for a login is a good security practice. You can keep the Identity Safe information updated with each change the next time that you visit that login's associated Web page.
To change the password for a login
1. Go to the Web page for which you want to change the password information.
2. Clear the password entry that Password Security made for you automatically.
3. Type the new password, and then click the button or link that logs you in.
4. In the Update dialog box, click Yes.
You can create complete online forms with a single click by using Identity cards. You can even set up an anonymous Identity Card for use on unfamiliar sites where you may be uncomfortable providing your personal information.
You can create one or more cards to manage your identity information when you visit transactional Web sites.
To add a card
1. To add a card, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, under Identity Cards, click Manage Cards.
4. On the Manage Identity Cards window, click Add Card.
5. Type your card details.
Your options are:
General - Provide your general details such as your card nickname, your name, and the open ID URL of your personal Web page, if any. You can turn on Password Protection by selecting the option under Password Protect. Enter and confirm the desired password. You can provide a password hint that you can access if you forget your password.
Contact - Provide your contact details.
Credit Card - Provide your credit card details.
6. If you want to include an image for your card, click Update Image and enter, or browse to the location of the image and upload the desired image.
7. Click Save.
8. Click Close.
All of the cards that you have saved in Identity Safe are listed in Manage Identity Cards. You can select, view, and edit the details of any card that you created. You can also delete a card if it is no longer needed.
Use the scroll arrows to view all of the cards that you created.
To edit a card
1. To edit a card, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, under Identity Cards, click Manage Cards.
4. On the Manage Identity Cards window, select the card you want to edit. If you protected your card details with a password, you can make changes only after you type the password in the Identity Card password dialog box.
5. Click Edit Card.
6. Edit the fields that you want to change.
7. If you want to update the image for your card, click the Update Image link and upload the desired image.
8. Click Save.
9. Click Close.
To delete a card
1. To delete a card, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, under Identity Cards, click Manage Cards.
4. On the Manage Identity Cards window, select the card you want to delete.
If you protected your card details with a password, you can make changes only after you type the password in the Identity Card password dialog box.
5. Click Delete Card.
6. In the Confirmation dialog box, click OK.
7. Click Close.
Notes safely stores personal information that you can retrieve and use when needed. You can enter your frequent flyer numbers, social security numbers, passport details, legal and financial information, and other private information that you want to protect in the Identity Safe.
You can use this information to fill out Web site registration forms.
You can also view, edit, and delete the notes that you have saved.
To create Notes
1. To create notes, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, click Manage Notes.
4. On the Manage Notes window, under Details, select a title from the drop-down list.
If a note already exists, click New, and then under Details, select a title from the drop-down list.
5. Enter any additional information in the Information field.
6. Click Save.
7. Click OK.
To edit Notes
1. To edit notes, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, click Manage Notes.
4. On the Manage Notes window, on the left side, select the title of the information you want to edit.
5. Click Edit and edit the information that appears on the right side.
6. Click Save.
7. Click OK.
To delete Notes
1. To delete notes, do one of the following:
* In the main window, under Identity Protection, click Manage Identity Safe Profile.
* In the main window, click Settings, and then in the Settings window, click Identity Safe Profile.
* On the Norton toolbar, click Identity Safe, and then click Settings.
2. In the Identity Safe Settings window, on the left side, click Log-ins, Cards, and Notes.
3. On the right side, click Manage Notes.
4. On the Manage Notes window, on the left side, select the title of the information you want to delete.
5. Click Delete.
6. In the Confirmation dialog box, click OK.
7. Click OK.
Norton Identity Safe is now included in Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security.
