You can also manually run the following types of scans:
* Quick Scan to scan the possible virus-infected areas of your computer
* Comprehensive Scan to examine your computer thoroughly
* Custom Scan to check for software vulnerabilities, backups, and disk optimization
Quick Scan helps you to scan the possible virus-infected areas of a computer that are often targeted by viruses and other security risks. Because this scan does not scan your entire computer, it takes lesser time to run than a Comprehensive Scan.
To run a Quick Scan
1. In the Norton 360 main window, do one of the following
* Click Tasks, and then click Run Scans.
* Hover your mouse over PC Security and click Run Scans.
2. In the Choose Scans window, click Quick Scan, and then click Go.
3. In the Results window, click Close.
Comprehensive Scan thoroughly examines your entire computer for viruses, spyware, and different security vulnerabilities.
In addition, Comprehensive Scan helps you to do the following:
* Back up your data.
* Free disk space by cleaning up disk clutter.
* Optimize disks to improve the performance of your computer.
To run a Comprehensive Scan
1. In the Norton 360 main window, do one of the following:
* Click Tasks, and then click Run Scans.
* Hover your mouse over PC Security and click Run Scans.
2. In the Choose Scans window, click Comprehensive Scan, and then click Go.
3. In the Results window, click Close.
Running a custom scan
Custom scan helps you to choose your own combinations of PC check for viruses, spyware, and security vulnerabilities.
Using custom scan, you can also back up your data, free disk space by cleaning up disk clutter, and optimize your disks.
1. In the Norton 360 main window, do one of the following:
* Click Tasks, and then click Run Scans.
* Hover your mouse over PC Security and click Run Scans.
2. In the Choose Scans window, click Let Me Choose, and then click Go.
3. Check the scan items that you want to run, and then click Go.
4. In the Results window, click Close.
