Starting March 2008 Symantec releases the new version of its all-in-one Internet security suite Norton 360 called version 2.0. The newest development now includes patent-pending Internet Browser Protection feature that detects and blocks Web threats before they can infect the PC by exploiting security holes in popular Internet browsers such as Internet Explorer.
Norton 360 Version 2.0 includes Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, Anti-phishing and Personal Firewall features alongside SONAR behaviour monitoring technology for even better protection from viruses, spyware and other unknown threats.
With the majority of Internet users that bank and shop online regularly, Symantec wanted to address the issue of securely storing online identity, financial and personal information. That said, Norton 360 includes Norton Identity Safe that stores in a secure and convenient way personal information that is being used in online transactions. This enables security-aware users to store their passwords and credit card numbers in an off-site vault that can be used either to auto-fill login forms and quick login to verified, trusted websites.
Norton 360 Version 2.0 antiphishing technology provides additional security by blocking potentially dangerous sites and preventing users from submitting sensitive information to those sites.
