Bloodhound™ is a Symantec's own scanning technology included in Norton Internet Security and similar software.

Bloodhound™ is used for detecting unknown viruses and emerging threats. Even though a virus or a threat hasn't been recognised on the basis of virus definition, Bloodhound™ can detect it accurately by analysing an executable file's structure, programme behaviour, and also examines its general characteristics to determine if it's malicious code.
